Born and raised in Dayton, KaCey is no stranger to hard work and perseverance. After hearing about Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton through her daughter’s godmother, she saw an opportunity to create a better future for herself and her daughter.
Currently living in an area where she doesn’t feel safe, KaCey is more than ready to become a homeowner. She’s embraced every part of the process, from sweat equity to homeowner education classes, even wishing the courses were longer so she could keep learning and asking questions. Through the program, she’s discovered the confidence to make repairs herself, installing rebar and hanging drywall. She has built lasting relationships with other families along the way.
With a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Cincinnati, KaCey works full time as a payment specialist while remaining deeply involved in her community. She serves on the PTA at her daughter’s school, helps with her learning at home, and takes pride in being a strong, supportive role model.
Becoming a homeowner means more than just a roof over their heads. For KaCey, it means safety, stability, and the foundation for building generational wealth. Her 5-year-old daughter, Daya, is in kindergarten. She loves reading with her mom, exploring outside, and spending time with family.
After losing both parents at the age of 15, KaCey has worked hard to build a stable, joyful life for herself and her daughter. She credits the Dayton Habitat program and volunteer work for giving her a clear path forward that is filled with community, growth, and a place to finally call home.
