Seeing her sister's success fueled Katherine’s determination to create a stable and beautiful home for herself and her son. Now, because of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton, her dream is about to become a reality.

On October 18, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton had the honor of hosting representatives from Habitat for Humanity Guatemala, who traveled to Dayton to share their mission and the incredible impact they’ve made in their country. Over the past 45 years, Habitat Guatemala has touched the lives of more than one million people, helping families build safer, healthier futures.
It was a day of firsts. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton recently completed and dedicated its first new home in New Carlisle.
After five years, Alesha and her family finally own a home. Read more about their home dedication here!

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton is excited to be hosting a dedication ceremony for their Carter Honor Build on Friday, March 22. After months of waiting, Dionka and her children will finally be able to step foot into their new house.
After months of dedicated effort, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton will be hosting a dedication ceremony for their Bank Build home on Friday, March 15. Aleasha and her six children are eager to open the door to their new home and begin this next chapter!
In honor of their impact, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton is proud to announce their latest endeavor - a branded build that echoes the spirit of commitment and community that Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter championed. Habitat for Humanity is deeply saddened by the passing of former U.S. first lady Rosalynn Carter, who was a champion and strong voice for affordable, decent housing for all. For more than three decades, she and President Jimmy Carter donated their time and leadership to Habitat each year to build and improve homes around the world. She died peacefully on Sunday at her home in Plains, Georgia, at the age of 96, with family by her side.
October 27 marked the end of a long but worthwhile journey for two of our partner families. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton hosted the first ever dual Women Build Dedication ceremony to welcome Kasandra and Olive into their new Habitat homes. Approximately 100 well-wishers were able to witness both single mothers and their children receive the keys to their new forever homes. Kasandra and Olive are now officially first-time homeowners!

Be Hope Church held their third annual panel build for Dayton Habitat to cap off their "Hope Week." With more than 100 volunteers, they worked alongside the soon-to-be homeowners, forming the walls in no time. Be Hope will be following the construction of the home they built walls for from the beginning to the end with their video team, volunteering along the way and offering their congregation a “from start to finish” look at what deeper church involvement in the Habitat mission looks like.

Cynthia Learned about Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton’s Critical Repair Program while shopping in the Springfield Restore and thought that the program could be the perfect solution to her dangerous back stairs at home. They were in such disrepair that she couldn't use them at all. So, she applied to the program and waited to see if Habitat could help her. It turned out that Habitat and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church both came to the rescue.

Englewood's Concord United Methodist Church built the walls for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton's new Faith Build located in Springfield, OH.
CtBS, a group of dedicated Catholic and Presbyterian churches in Montgomery County, built 30 homes in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton over last 29 years. And while CtBS has decided to step back from its leadership role, its partnership with Dayton Habitat continues under the leadership of the Habitat Faith Family Build program. The first build under the new Habitat Faith Family Faith Build umbrella kicked off on Friday, May 28th in West Carrollton.
Several community and faith leaders gathered for the official groundbreaking ceremony at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton's newest building project in Springfield! Joining them was the homebuyer Katara and her four children as well-as many others. This is a milestone for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton because the organization only added Clark County to its tri-county footprint last February.
Grace Evangelical Makes a donation to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton Critical Repair Program. The money will help to preplace a set of unsafe stairs for a Springfield area widow. This is a perfect example of how churches can work with Habitat to make the lives of the area’s underserved residents safer and better.

Charles Simms started off his 90th birthday on Thursday enjoying an ice cream cupcake with his family, a workout, and a visit to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton’s 2022 Ann Simms Annual Memorial Women’s Build jobsite. He and the Simms family has made it possible for 18 families like Kendra, Donovan and their three daughters to buy their own affordable homes.

For years, she had rented five different homes, never imagining that she could one day own a house of her own. She has six children - Jeffrey, Jordan, Dasia, Aaliyah, Jakiya, and Daleasha - and finding a place for all of them to live comfortably has been a challenge. That was until she contacted Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton.
