Are You a UD Student Org Leader?

Student Organizations can reserve a whole day on the build site to allow more members of their organization to volunteer. To do this, a HabiTEAM form must be submitted to our Volunteer Director, Krissy. Any questions can be directed to Krissy as well (kday@daytonhabitat.org)

ALL Habitat Volunteers/Team Members/Group Members are REQUIRED to register and sign-up online through Volunteer Hub. Any reserved slots which are not filled one week prior to the reserved volunteer date will be released for other volunteers.

Flyer Nation Panel Build; 500 freshman students and staff built the frame panels for two Dayton Habitat homes in just 4 hours. One of the homes was a two-story home!

Dayton Habitat and the University of Dayton Partner for Third Annual Panel Build Event

On Saturday, October 18, over 400 University of Dayton School of Business Administration students came together to build 65 wall panels for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton. This year's event marks the third year for this growing partnership.

"From administering microloans to assisting with tax filings, UD business students continually engage in meaningful service work,” said School of Business Administration Dean Trevor Collier. “The SBA day of service with Habitat for Humanity is a yearly highlight that demonstrates our commitment to servant leadership. It’s a chance for students to step away from spreadsheets and into the field, working shoulder-to-shoulder with our community partners to address a critical need. This real-world application of service reinforces our belief: a successful business career is fundamentally about building up the community around you.”

The University's commitment to community is infectious! Many students and faculty returned this year to help assist the first year students with their build.

“The walls UD School of Business Administration students and faculty will be building are the beginning of this year’s Flyer Nation partnership between the University of Dayton and Habitat for Humanity,” said Norm Miozzi, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton’s Executive Director. “The walls will be raised onto a foundation and provide the opportunity for a family to raise their children in a safe, beautiful, affordable new home. It will forever stand as a testament to Habitat’s commitment to affordable homeownership and the University’s commitment to the Dayton community.”

Community is at the core of both Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton and the University of Dayton. The homes built in this partnership have helped build two of the first new homes to stand in the Edgemont community in over 50 years.
