Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton proudly invites the community to celebrate the dedication of the 2025 Flyer Nation Build. The ceremony will take place on Friday, October 31, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 720 Maitland Ave Dayton OH.

Through the dedicated efforts of volunteers, donors, and other community supporters, Yalonda and her children will soon move into their new home in Edgemont. For the family, becoming homeowners means far more than just having a place to call their own—it signifies a life-changing opportunity for them. Born and raised in Dayton, Yalonda has spent the past 50 years deeply rooted in her community, embracing its values and contributing to its well-being. Her passion for helping others, both personally and professionally as an STNA, made her the perfect partner for this year’s Flyer Nation Build through Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton.

Through Dayton Habitat’s unique homeownership model, families like Yalonda's achieve stability by purchasing their homes with a 0% interest mortgage. This program also empowers future homeowners to complete homeownership courses and contribute a minimum of 275 “sweat equity” volunteer hours. With the help of Dayton Habitat, Yalonda's dream of homeownership is becoming a reality. The family is excited to have a home with a shower, air conditioning, and sufficient space — things that have not been available to them in their current living situation. In their safe, stable home, the family will be able to thrive and aspire to greater things!
