Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton Purchases Long-Vacant Property for Future Third ReStore

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton is excited to announce the purchase of the property at 8336 Springboro Pike in Miami Township, a long-vacant retail location formerly occupied by Bargain Hunt. Following renovations, the property will become the future home of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton’s third ReStore location.

The acquisition marks an exciting milestone for Dayton Habitat as the organization continues to expand its reach and services throughout Montgomery, Clark, and Greene Counties. Plans for renovations are already underway, and the organization is inviting the community to be part of transforming the property into a new resource for the community.

“We are very excited to have acquired this property and to begin the process of bringing a third ReStore to the community,” said Norm Miozzi, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton. “Our ReStores are an important part of Habitat’s ability to serve local families. The proceeds from every purchase help support our homeownership and critical repair programs, allowing us to continue building homes, communities, and hope.”

As renovations continue, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton will share more information about opportunities for the community to get involved. Volunteers will play an important role in preparing the new location. The organization will also welcome donations of new and gently used items as the opening approaches.

Once open, the new ReStore will offer a wide variety of new and gently used home furnishings, décor, appliances, building materials, paint supplies, and more — all at discounted prices. Every purchase will help support Habitat’s mission and make it possible for local families to access safe, affordable housing.

“This project is about more than opening another store,” Miozzi said. “It’s about taking a property that sat vacant and turning it into something that will have a lasting impact on families throughout our community. We’re excited to invite our neighbors, volunteers, donors, and future shoppers to help us make that happen.”

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton will provide updates on the renovation and future opening of the ReStore through its website and social media channels.
