Leaving a legacy for her children- that is what Brianna’s new home is all about. As a single mother of three, with two more on the way, she has spent years working toward a future where her children can grow, thrive, and dream without limits. Now, as she prepares to become a Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton homeowner, that vision is becoming a reality.
After hearing about Habitat’s program from a friend who had successfully become a homeowner, Brianna was inspired to pursue the same opportunity for her family. What followed was a season of determination, discipline, and growth. Through Habitat’s homeownership program, Brianna completed 275 hours of sweat equity, attended financial and homeownership education classes, and saved for her first year’s taxes and insurance—milestones that reflect both her commitment and resilience.
Throughout the program, Brianna embraced every opportunity to learn. She especially valued the tax class, which gave her the tools to confidently manage and sustain her future home. But for her children, the experience brought its own excitement—particularly the nutrition class, which quickly became a family favorite. Together, they’ve grown not just in knowledge, but in anticipation of what’s ahead. With dreams of becoming a professional football player, a firefighter, and a doctor, her children are already imagining bright futures—and Brianna is determined to give them the foundation to achieve them.
Their new home will mean more than just extra space. It will offer space to breathe, a backyard to play in, and a place where family and friends can gather. It will be a home they can truly make their own—painting walls, decorating rooms, and building traditions that last for generations.
For Brianna, this home represents generational change. It is an investment not only in her family’s present, but in their future. She hopes that by becoming a homeowner, she is setting an example for her children—showing them what is possible through hard work, perseverance, and community support. And one day, she hopes to pass this home down to them, allowing them to follow in her footsteps and build legacies of their own.
