Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton proudly invites the community to celebrate the dedication of their Women Build. The ceremony will take place on Friday, September 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 714 Maitland Ave Dayton OH.
Through the dedicated efforts of volunteers, donors, and other community supporters, Ranee and her children will soon move into their new home in Edgemont. For the family, becoming homeowners isn’t just about owning a house—it’s about coming home. As this year’s Women Build homebuyer, Ranee is returning to her roots in the Edgemont community where she grew up. After moving away as a young adult to build a life for herself, she is now coming full circle, ready to plant lasting roots in the place where it all started.
Through Dayton Habitat’s unique homeownership model, families like Ranee's achieve stability by purchasing their homes with a 0% interest mortgage. This program also empowers future homeowners to complete homeownership courses and contribute a minimum of 275 “sweat equity” volunteer hours. With the help of Dayton Habitat, Ranee’s dream of homeownership is becoming a reality. Her new home will provide her family with the safety, stability, and space they need to thrive. Her children are overjoyed at the prospect of having their own rooms. For Ranee, the excitement comes in the little things like the ability to paint her own walls..
