Erica and her son Chace became homeowners in December of 2019. Erica worked diligently through our program, determined to provide a better life for her young son. Erica lived in an apartment complex that was tragically destroyed during the Memorial Day tornadoes. Thankfully she and her son were physically unharmed. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to start construction on Erica's home quickly and ensure she had a home in time for Christmas! We asked Erica what she was looking forward to regarding owning her own home, “My whole life I’ve wanted to have a mailbox. I’ve never had a mailbox of my own. Cluster mailboxes at apartments are where the drug dealers and criminals hang out so, as a kid, I could never get the mail and I do not let my son check the mail now. I can’t wait to walk down my driveway and get my mail from my very own mailbox.” We are thrilled to say that Erica now has her very own mailbox and a safe, affordable place to call home. Congrats!
