Youth Involvement
We appreciate all our volunteers and do our best to make sure everyone has a successful build day. Part of having a great build day is safety. Due to the hazards of construction work, there are some limitations on what youth under 18 may do:
Under 14
Minors under 14 are not allowed on the construction site. Off-site events or projects can be recommended.
Ages 14-15
Minors 14-15 may only be on the construction site during landscaping and painting days. Please confirm with the volunteer coordinator before you sign up for a volunteer day.
Ages 16-17
Minors 16-17 are allowed to participate in construction work
with the exception of using power tools or working on a roof.
All minors must complete a Minor Liability Waiver
and have it signed by their parent or guardian. Completed forms may
be faxed to (937) 586-0862, scanned and emailed to
volunteer@daytonhabitat.org, or mailed to 3534 Linden Ave., Dayton,
OH 45410 at least 5 days before the minor will be
volunteering.
You will receive an e-mail confirmation that the waiver has been
received and entered. Once we have your waiver on file you can sign
up to volunteer on a specific build day!
